Dressing Down ‘n Disney

I’ll be the first to admit that I spend the majority of my life dressed down. Joggers, hoodies, pyjamas and my dressing gown are hands down the most worn items in my wardrobe. Don’t get me wrong, I bloody love chucking on a dress and heels but you can never beat the true comfort of a jumper can ya!

I picked up this beauty of a cropped sweater from Chinese Laundry, it wasn’t the cheapest at £25 but I’m making more of a conscious effort to shop more thoughtfully in 2019. If that means spending a little more on a truly considered purchase, then that’s my shopping technique for this year! Shopping vintage is something I hope to rekindle my love for, Primark became my reliable go to, and probably still will be forever because this gal just loves a Primark shop, but charity shops will from now on be my first port of call when it comes to fashion. I know I mentioned this in my last post, but I feel like I’ll have a better chance of sticking to it if I keep telling myself (and others) about it!

I’ve become obsessed with styling cropped sweaters with mom jeans and slip on Vans for January, it’s casual and cool and still super comfy for the cold ass Winter! They’re 100% my go-to on non work days, you just can’t go wrong with that classic combo.

I bought another cropped jumper from Chinese Laundry along with this one, and most likely that will become the main feature for my next post. I’m considering filming a little lookbook for my mom jean/cropped sweater outfits, cause I do have a fair few that I love, for my YouTube channel. I’m probably gonna end up going into a craze and lop off the bottoms of all of my sweaters and jumpers!

Jumper: Chinese Laundry

Jeans: Primark

Belt: Primark

Shoes: Vans

Earrings: Regal Rose

Dressing for your shape and size can fuck off, I don’t always want to wear the most flattering shapes, colours, cuts and fits! If I wanna look like a sack, I will look like the cutest, best dressed sack in the land.

I do have what they call a ‘difficult figure’, top heavy, next to no hips, parsnip legs and gangly arms. So no matter what kind of bullshit ‘dressing to flatter your shape’ guide I’d adhere to, they’d all be miles off anyway! So fuck ’em. I’ve recently binge watched season 5 of Grace and Frankie and have fully adapted their new life motto of ‘FUCK IT’ when it comes to my personal style.

Thank ya Pat for always trekking out in the cold and wind and shooting with me being daft as shite!
