August Favourites 2018

Let’s just not talk about August, deal? Time is moving too fast and I’m not keeping up, so this monthly favourites can just focus on bits and bobs that have brought me a smile!

Gallery walls are incredibly hit and miss in my opinion. I didn’t like the look of them when they first started appearing on Instagram and Pinterest but I quickly discovered I didn’t like them because the frames were boring and the art wasn’t to my taste.

I’ve been collecting frames and prints for a looooooong time and I’ve always struggled with thinking of ways to display my treasure trove of finds. Because of that, they’ve been boxed up or scattered around various rooms, not reaching their full potential. So I finally bit the bullet and began my very own gallery wall in my bedroom. I’m considering doing a full blog post about the display and my collection, maybe even a video, so I shan’t say more!

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine sucked me right in from the get go. I’d read the first few pages a while ago in Waterstones but when I found it for four pounds in Asda, it had to come home with me. I found parts predictable, but never in a boring way. A wonderful story.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was more than I ever could’ve hoped it would be. I was expecting a sing-a-long and a cringe, but no! I sobbed like nobody’s business. ‘Waterloo’ made me crylaugh, absolutely phenomenal. Also can we talk about how GORGEOUS young Sam, Bill and Harry are?! I’m a little bit obsessed with Jeremy Irvine now. And also with Lily James, but I’ve been in love with her since Baby Driver! Also Cher. That is all.

I’ve been after earrings like these for years, but never bought any for fear of looking like a chav! So when I was shopping in New Look with my friend Chloe, I pointed them out but didn’t pick them up. To my delight she presented them to me at the till as a cheer-up present, I have the best friends in the world!

Marina and The Diamonds has pretty much been my soundtrack of the month; How To Be A Heartbreaker and Hollywood as old favourites and pretty much the entirety of Froot!

A couple more bangers that I’ve added to my Summer2018 playlist on Spotify that I have been lovin’: MANTRA – Bring Me The Horizon, the light is coming – Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj, Kiss and Eighteen – Pale Waves, I Do – Cardi B, Never Enough – The Hunna.

August has been good to me since I began this post! It’s been a good month for reflection and I’m feeling pretty alright to start September now, even though it’s going to be horrendously weird for the first time in my life not to be going back to ‘school’.
